NEC will be leading the technology charge at the new Footscray Hospital in Victoria.
The New Footscray Hospital Project is being constructed by Multiplex and delivered by Plenary Health in partnership with the Victorian Health Building Authority and Western Health.
NEC will supply and install CISCO networking, security, data centre infrastructure, and telephony systems facility, leveraging its expertise to drive digital transformation.
This transformation will in turn help deliver innovative solutions that enhance patient care and operational efficiency, leveraging the latest wireless network technologies supporting ‘real time location’ service and enhanced patient connectivity.
The new hospital will have more than 500 inpatient beds, treating around 15,000 more patients per year, and allow 20,000 more people to be seen by the emergency department each year, generate local employment opportunities, reduce wait times, and improve patient outcomes.
NEC Australia CEO, Jason Price, said world leading technology will be at the heart of the new facility.

The new Footscray Hospital is under construction and is set to be completed in 2025.
