AtkinsRéalis has acquired Brisbane-based engineering consultancy ADG, expanding its Australian workforce to about 350 specialists and broadening its capacity to deliver multidisciplinary infrastructure projects across the country.
ADG provides civil, structural and digital engineering services in transport infrastructure, urban development, commercial and residential projects. The company is known for work on projects including Sydney’s Quay Quarter Tower, Brisbane’s Howard Smith Wharves, MELConnx in Perth, renewable energy developments in New South Wales, Hobart International Airport, and defence and health infrastructure in Darwin, as well as engineering support for regional and remote communities.
AtkinsRéalis said the acquisition strengthens its position in Defence, Energy, Water, Buildings and Places, and Transportation markets by combining local engineering capability with the company’s international technical expertise. The expansion follows the company’s broader growth strategy in Australia.
Richard Robinson, President AMEA at AtkinsRéalis, said the integration of ADG provides additional local capacity for pursuing complex infrastructure projects. ADG chief executive Marco Ficca said joining a global organisation will give the consultancy access to a wider range of projects and resources.
By combining ADG’s regional knowledge and experience in value engineering with AtkinsRéalis’ global project portfolio, the companies aim to further contribute to Australia’s infrastructure and urban development goals. AtkinsRéalis said the acquisition reflects a long-term commitment to the Australian market and lays groundwork for future investment.
