Melbourne Water has partnered with NetApp to leverage its ONTAP software solution which provides simplified storage infrastructure, efficiency and enterprise data protection to support its digital transformation process.
Melbourne Water’s digital strategy encompasses five business domains – customer, service delivery (asset), corporate, infrastructure and capability. One key element of its strategy focuses on cloud adoption and a greater use of data analytics.
By partnering with NetApp, Melbourne Water will scale-out its cloud and data storage capabilities through the implementation of a hybrid cloud strategy and support the future of its overarching digital strategy.
Melbourne Water’s Manager Core Delivery Services Gaurav Gupta said: “We foresee a huge data growth in the next three years and needed a partner that could help us scale, manage our data and utilise the cloud as part of our transformation journey.”
“NetApp’s ONTAP and hybrid cloud data service will help us enhance business operation, in-turn helping us provide better support to our customers and enhance overall user experience. NetApp’s capabilities and the ability to deliver data services irrespective of the location on-premises or cloud providers is a true differentiation,” Mr Gupta said.
Paul Crighton, Managing Director at NetApp Australia & New Zealand, said: “We’re proud to help Melbourne Water leverage the power of hybrid cloud to accelerate its digital transformation.”
“Being cloud-ready is now a necessity for all businesses as they aim to address their new data needs. Melbourne Water is expecting to see a flood of new data growth and we are here to support them as they take their first steps in the journey. We look to continue working with Melbourne Water to help the utility become a true cloud-led organization,” Mr Crighton said.
