Twelve Western Australia companies have been chosen by the Cook Labor Government to enter the United States’ critical technology sector through a new unique funding program.
Innovation and the Digital Economy Minister Stephen Dawson said the Government’s new Global Growth Accelerator Program (GGAP) will begin in January with a three-month course to prepare the selected businesses for an international market.
Participants will be equipped with the tools, knowledge, and networks to refine their go-to-market strategies and gain access to customers, investors, and partners in both civilian and defence markets in the United States.
The program will conclude with participation at South by Southwest (SXSW) 2025 in Austin, Texas, offering delegates the opportunity to showcase their innovations and capitalise on strategic connections made throughout the program.
Delivered by Invest and Trade WA with support from the Cook Government’s New Industries Fund, the GGAP marks the first time the accelerator approach is being piloted to support WA companies to internationalise their operations.
The companies invited to participate in the GGAP include Agili8, BoAB Community Partnerships Pty Ltd, Electric Power Conversions Australia, Genvis, Geomoby, Greenroom Robotics, Hyprfire Pty Ltd, Materia Health, MTM Critical Metals Ltd, VetChip, VROC Australia, and Whole.
The Cook Labor Government is keen to showcase our successful local critical technologies sector to a global audience,” said Dawson. “We know our local sector has much to offer and much to gain from an international platform and, through our new GGAP, we are supporting key players in the industry to enter the United States market.”
“This program is a new approach for our government and is just another way we are supporting our burgeoning local sector to grow and further diversify our economy,” he added. “This is an exciting time for the critical technology sector who produce world-class products and solutions that cross multiple industries, and it is important that we support these businesses to achieve local, national, and global success.”
