Avanade has announced the establishment of its Avanade Data Hub (Industry X) in Perth, Western Australia.

The hub aims to help the oil and gas, mining and asset-intensive organisations improve its capabilities in sustainability and carbon management, new ways of working, operational and cost efficiency, as well as health and safety.

The hub will be a centre of excellence that provides the talent, skills and industry knowledge to deliver end-to-end, connected and intelligent solutions (also known as ‘Industry X’) on the Microsoft platform. The Industry X solutions will enable organisations to harness the power of data with emerging technologies such as Internet of Things (IoT), Digital Twins and Artificial Intelligence (AI), create and enhance experiences with augmented reality and virtual reality, as well as define new operating models.

The Avanade Data Hub is also committed towards growing the local tech talent pool, combating Australia’s technology skills shortage, and improving diversity within the technology sector. With plans to expand its local team to over 100 specialised technology people, Avanade will be recruiting and training early career talent (graduates and trainees), people from outside the technology industry, and individuals returning to work after a long break. Interested individuals are encouraged to apply here.

The Avanade Data Hub in Perth joins Avanade’s growing network of offices, hubs and digital innovation studios in Australia located in: Adelaide (Engineering Hub), Brisbane, Canberra, Melbourne, and Sydney.

“Through the Avanade Data Hub, we bring unrivalled industry insights and expertise to help our clients do what matters. This means marrying our industry knowledge with innovation and Microsoft’s cutting-edge technologies to help organisations in the resources industry transform its operations, manage assets, drive sustainability, and empower employees. As an organisation committed towards making a genuine human impact, we’re also excited to play a key role in nurturing the local tech talent pool in Perth – from improving diversity to developing specialised skillsets and enabling more people to pursue rewarding careers in technology.” – Vanessa Black, Director – Avanade Data Hub and Perth Territory Lead, Avanade Australia.
