Australian company Lynx Systems has partnered with Canadian company Green Edge Computing Corp (GECCO) to develop a smart building skin, which will change the way we capture, store and use data.
Lynx Systems has developed a non-combustible steel cladding system that integrates with edge technology, allowing for powerful building performance – without compromising on architectural design.
By partnering with GECCO and, in particular, the GECCO EdgePodm, which converges fast local processing, networking, secure data storage, and a low latency, high bandwidth AI platform, Lynx Systems can bring to life edge technology in a way we are not yet building.
“It has taken many years of research and practical application, but we are now at a stage where we can harness the power of green energy and wrap technology into the fabric of buildings,” said Lynx Systems CEO Marianna Geddes.
“Essentially, we can create smart buildings that negate the need and risk of using cloud-based storage, are up to 80% more energy efficient and are safer,” she added. “The building itself becomes the producer of energy, the centre for data collection, storage and processing, and also immediately responsive to building requirements like heating and cooling.”
“This is the future of the building industry, and we are comfortable that we have the technology partners and the application to be able to achieve it.”
