Blaize has signed a strategic memorandum of understanding (MOU) with South Korea-based Vision AI and Edge AI computing company SPHERE AX to jointly develop and commercialise AI semiconductor-based products aimed at the “Physical AI” market.
The agreement was signed at South Korea’s National Assembly in Seoul, ahead of a policy roundtable focused on Korea–U.S. cooperation in Physical AI and the creation of an AI industry innovation ecosystem.
According to the companies, the partnership will combine Blaize’s AI semiconductor technology with SPHERE AX’s Vision AI and edge AI software to develop products for use cases including smart cities, smart factories, industrial safety, security, robotics and mobility.
The two companies said they intend to explore collaboration across joint research and development in edge AI computing, potential commercialisation of AI semiconductor-based solutions, and business development for domestic and international customers.
They also said the collaboration aims to establish a Korea-based AI product development and production ecosystem, linking overseas semiconductor technology with local productisation for global supply, and aligning with government policies intended to support the AI semiconductor sector and advanced manufacturing.
Yunha Park, CEO of SPHERE AX, stated, “This cooperation will be more than a simple technology alliance. It will be the first step toward developing and producing actual commercial AI products in Korea based on globally competitive AI semiconductor technology.” Yunha added, “We will continue to expand various global businesses so that Korea can grow into a key production hub in the global Edge AI market.”
