Geotab has launched its GO Focus Pro video telematics dash camera in Australia and New Zealand, positioning the product at fleet operators facing fatigue-related safety risks and growing compliance pressures.
The release follows findings in Geotab’s Connected Fleets in Australia Report 2026, which the company said identified driver fatigue and safety as the top challenge for Australian fleet managers. The report also found 53% of Australian fleets use in-cab video technology, a sign that camera-based monitoring is becoming a mainstream tool for safety and operational risk management.
GO Focus Pro is designed to provide 360-degree visibility by supporting up to five auxiliary cameras covering the vehicle, driver, cargo, trailers and the surrounding environment. The system includes AI-based safety features intended to detect traffic light violations, forward collision risks and vulnerable road users in blind spots, according to Geotab.
The platform also includes automated coaching tools, with real-time in-cab audio alerts and the ability for managers to assign and track coaching programs. Geotab said the product uses an AI-driven workflow “without systematic human review”, which may be relevant to fleet operators considering privacy and monitoring practices.
“The Australian fleet industry is facing a growing mix of safety, compliance and operational pressures. Driver fatigue remains the number one challenge for fleet managers, while rising costs and increasing customer expectations continue to place additional strain on both businesses and drivers,” said Chris Martin, Senior Manager, Solutions Engineering APAC at Geotab.
“At the same time, we’re seeing organisations embrace connected vehicle technologies and video telematics as practical tools to improve safety outcomes and reduce risk. The opportunity isn’t simply to collect more data, but to use real-time insights to better support drivers, identify potential risks earlier and create safer, more resilient fleet operations. Solutions like the GO Focus Pro are designed to help fleets turn those insights into action, giving drivers greater support on the road while helping organisations build safer and more resilient operations.”
Geotab said GO Focus Pro is integrated into its MyGeotab platform and includes features such as driver scoring to identify repeat infractions, “Smart Sequence” for surfacing critical events, facial recognition-based driver assignment, and a “zero-latency” backup monitor intended to support reversing and low-speed manoeuvres.
The company said GO Focus Pro is available through Geotab and its authorised reseller network across Australia and New Zealand.
