Engineering services company AtkinsRéalis has entered into an agreement to acquire WGA (Wallbridge Gilbert Aztec), an Australian engineering and project management consultancy.
WGA employs more than 800 staff and operates across 20 offices in Australia and New Zealand, according to information provided with the announcement.
The companies said the agreement is intended to expand their presence across markets where demand is rising for new and upgraded infrastructure, including buildings, resources, transport, ports and marine environments, defence, energy, and civic and community assets.
The proposed acquisition follows AtkinsRéalis’ purchase of Brisbane-based engineering firm ADG in December 2025. AtkinsRéalis said the latest deal would take its headcount across Australia and New Zealand to more than 1,100.
The announcement referenced quotes attributed to Tom Hasker, CEO of AtkinsRéalis Australia and New Zealand, and Ben Stapleton, joint managing director of WGA, contained in an attached media release.
